This recipe for German Rouladen (flank steak) has been passed down from Aunt Resi (/ˈray.si/) on Tracy's side.
Yield is 8-10 servings, depending on the amount of flank steak used.
Ingredients
Flank steak
1 pkg bacon
1 onion
1 jar dill pickles
16 oz sour cream
2 cans beef stock
Wondra
Cooking twine
Skewers cut in half
Instructions
Pound the crap out of flank steak with a mallet / meat tenderize or hammer. Place between pieces of wax paper or saran wrap and beat until thin and spread out.
Cut up 6-8 slices of bacon – fry in big skillet – save the grease – keep pan warm.
Dice one large onion – don’t forget the onion goggles!
